The AIC provides funding to arts and cultural organizations across Calhoun, Branch, Hillsdale, Lenawee and Jackson Counties. The AIC administers the Arts Marketing & Programming Grant (AMP) and the Creative Industries Development Grant (CID) and is the regranting agency for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) Region 16 Minigrant Program. Each grant program has specific application deadlines, program parameters, funding rounds and eligibility requirements. The AIC also conducts grant-writing workshops throughout the region. Last year, over $163,000 was granted to area arts and cultural organizations with more funding slated to be available in the coming year.
Through the support of the AIC Annual Fund Drive, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Battle Creek Community Foundation, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and other contributors, the AIC is able to support a variety of organizations and creative endeavors that enhance cultural vibrancy and diversity in the Greater Calhoun County Region.
