ABOUT THE EVENT
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR A FUN DAY AT STUART’S LANDING, MARSHALL
SATURDAY, AUGUST 28, 2010… 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Musically inclined? NOT musically inclined, but like to listen? Have things that you want to get rid of - CD’s, albums, cassettes, radios, whatever…. There is LOTS of something at the Marshall Music Faire for you!
If you have musical items, could be CD’s, tapes, sheet music, instruments, equipment, manuals … “anything” that might be music related, call and sign up for a booth to sell your items. In your wildest imagination, somehow you can tie into a theme… want to sell some stuff… dress up like John Phillip Sousa and march around! You’ve tied into the theme!
Decorate your space with music notes or banners? You’ve tied into the theme! Booths are $35.00 for a 10’ x 10’ and $50.00 for a 10’ x 20’, additional charge if you must have electricity. (Batteries are best!) You bring your set-up, we’ll show you to your booth space, and you bring your musical stuff in.
We have loads of space at Stuart’s Landing, in the shade, sun and near the lovely Kalamazoo River. How you “sell” your merchandise is totally up to you… sell, trade, barter, give away… all proceeds are YOURS. All booth locations are assigned by need and size, not subject to change upon arrival.
In addition three music areas will be available to play! If you have a musical group or solo act, well known or want people to hear you for the first time, this is your chance. Call to let us know who you are and we’ll set you up in one of the 3 staging areas for musicians to play, dance, sing, recite poetry, your choice as long as it is family related. Music sound levels will be regulated so all 3 can be playing at the same time and everyone can get their own audiences. Want to sing Karaoke? For a $10.00 donation to SJOS, you can have a staging area for 20 minutes!
This is NOT a garage sale or rummage sale, but an opportunity for musicians to find equipment they may need, people who collect or are looking for a particular CD or album can find it, hear music of all genres, get rid of equipment that they may no longer need and may be someone else’s essential or treasure. Acoustical and electronic, “everything” is welcome.
The last, but not least aspect of this event is that all non-profits in the area are more than welcome to come in and set up a booth. Everyone from Marshall’s great Foundations, Relay for Life, Marshall Mainstreet, to Habitat for Humanity, Fountain Clinic and more, just let us know so we can assign a space. Everyone is invited to come out and see, hear, and have a good time. Our non-profits are the people who give so much for so little, come out to Stuart’s Landing and support the people who make Marshall the unique community that it is.
This new innovative event is Saturday, August 28 – rain date Sunday, August 29 – from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stuart’s Landing on Homer Road in Marshall, Michigan.
No admission charge to wander around, donations welcome. The Marshall Music Faire is sponsored by Live Music Festivals, Inc. with all proceeds going to “Swing, Jazz & Other Stuff!!!”
For questions or to reserve space, call 269/501-2511.
